  • 5 String Fun

    Funded Aug 20, 2021

This instrument has made a huge impact in my class! Because of the five strings, I am able to accurately demonstrate registers and notes for my students on all instruments. This is huge for our listening/aural abilities, as far as accuracy of pitch!

My students are also loving to learn and experiment with the 5-string instrument. They are often picking it up and playing music on it! It has proved very useful in the time we have had it, allowing students to experiment with a fifth string they do not have on their own instrument, as well as allowing me to maximize instruction time so that I can demonstrate their musical excerpts with just one instrument instead of pulling multiple instruments out or switching in between.

Thank you for your investment in our classroom and learning!”

    Ms. Sy

  • Music Supplies

    Funded Aug 13, 2021

These supplies have contributed so much to our classroom! Because our enrollment has grown, not only in the school but in my classes- we were short on supplies before the school year started. Thanks to this project and your donations, each student has their own shoulder rest and anchor strap! This is significant to making sure a student is set up correctly on their instrument, which in turn helps them produce the best sounds you can. Additionally, it means each student can practice at home too! If we had not had these materials, students would have had to share (which is unsafe in a pandemic and inefficient in a classroom setting as adjustments would have to be made to fit their bodies and preferences). Because each student has their own, they are on their way to becoming the best musicians they can be! Thank you for helping our students have their basic music supplies to start our year off right!”

  • Learning to Loop!

    Funded Aug 19, 2021

Once again we are in complete awe of your support for our classroom and endeavors! We are so excited to begin experimenting with this loop pedal station as soon as we get it so that we can branch out into different genres and styles of music! Thank you for your support of our program and our students! Here's to the love of music everywhere!”

  • Instrumental Needs!

    Funded May 11, 2021

Thank you for your help in these supplies for our orchestra classroom! This year alone, we gained about 80 new students to our program and were in desperate need of all the supplies funded by this project! Shoulder rests and anchor straps are imperative to setting up a student correctly that has never played an instrument before and thanks to you, almost every student has the ability to have their own! Because these resources were funded and came in early throughout the year, we were able to jump right into learning music and playing right away! Thank you so much for your investment in our students and in music education!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Sy

  • Happy Organizing!

    Funded May 27, 2021

We are so happy about our new cabinet! It has helped us tremendously with storage! Now all of our books, sheet music, tuners, and rosin are stored in one central location with easy access for our students. Additionally, the cabinet is going to be such a big help in keeping our books nice and in good condition for years to come, as opposed to being stored in random spots in the room or in students' backpacks! Thank you so much for helping us get this resource for our classroom. We are very excited to have it to help organize all of our supplies and resources!”

  • On the Road Again!

    Funded Jan 23, 2020

We know that you understand all our live s were impacted by COVID-19. Because of this, we were unable to execute this trip. However, we were still able to put your money to use for resources for our classroom. We were able to supply our classroom with a printer and copier, which will GREATLY help us in the classroom because our paper needs exceed the norm, as we still read and practice off our sheet music. Additionally, we were able to provide other needed supplies for our students, such as shoulder rests, which is a huge asset to us performing with the correct posture and technique we need.

Thank you for continuing to support us, even in trying times. We are forever grateful.”

  • Listen to Ourselves

    Funded May 15, 2020

We are so grateful for the funding of this project! As we transition back to in-person learning, we are ready to use these recorders to help us assess ourselves faster. We are able to achieve high quality recordings with these recorders so we will be able to listen to ourselves, provide quick feedback, and continue to improve on our musicianship!

Additionally, for the future, we will be able to use these recorders to produce high quality recordings of performances, at concerts and contests. We cannot wait to put these materials to use and are so grateful!”

  • Let's Make Music

    Funded Aug 31, 2020

We were in desperate need of more violins and violas! This project gave us just that! Because of this project and a couple of others, each student is able to perform/practice/play on their own instrument and this is HUGE! Now, each student in the program has the ability to become accustomed to their own instrument, as well as the ability to take it home and practice.

With each instrument you provide to a student, you are giving them a lifetime of teamwork, discipline, opportunity, and many other things that come with being in a music program. Thank you for investing in our students and in the future of musicianship all around!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Sy

  • Music Can Change the World

    Funded Jul 30, 2020

This is the first year I have not taught at 2 schools--thus, giving me a full time program at my current school! Because of this, we have had more students enroll in the program and this project has allowed me to put instruments in those students hands! It is quite significant for each student to have their own instrument, particularly in the beginning stages of their learning so that they can take them home to practice and refine skills, as well as become accustomed to their own instrument so that good technique and form become habit.

As soon as we received these instruments, I was able to put them into students' hands and prevent sharing of instruments which can become problematic in many ways! Thanks for giving my students the gift of music!”

  • Let's Tune Up!

    Funded Jun 5, 2020

As we have been shifting back and forth between in person learning and distance learning, it has been most significant that my students have all the tools they need to attempt to learn their instruments to the best of all of our abilities. With these tuners, I have been able to send some home with students so that they can tune their instruments on their own so that we can continue to attempt to sound our best virtually. I am looking forward to using these in the classroom as well---for many classes, they will help speed up our process of tuning at the beginning of the day so we can spend the rest of the period(s) focusing on repertoire and musicality. Thank you so much for your help and contribution to our classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Sy
